Clear It Out Challenge - Purples

Do anyone know what time it is?

It's CHALLENGE time!!!

Once again, time for a new challenge over at Clear It Out Challenge
It is time to put away the dishes, turn off the phone,
and time to get our crafty on.  And, as usual, our fearless
leader, Laura, has come up with another AMAZING challenge
for us.   So easy, peasy . . .

 Are you ready???

I didn't hear you . . .

Are you ready???

Okay, it's challenge time!!!

Theme:  Purple
Stash: Purple things

And you have one (1) week to play (till May 5th)

This week our sponsor is:

For this week's challenge, I chose a cute little image called "Tina Tulips" from Lacy Sunshine because it reminded me of Spring . . . and here in the Midwest we are starting to get our first signs of Spring.

For this card, I used paper from the mica/metallic paper pack from The Paper Temptress . . . Amethyst, Antique Gold and Punch (a really dark purple).  I used my Spellbinder Nestablities Card Creator - A2 Fancy Ribbon Threader die to cut out this card . . . but instead of threading ribbon or twine thru the slots and holes, I decided to mat my card with the Antique Gold Mica/Metallic paper to help show of the design. Plus, the first and biggest die is only about 3-5/8"x5-1/8". And I printed the "Happy Mother's Day" on my computer.

All-in-all, I think it turned out pretty good even though my hubby doesn't like tulips (but I LOVE them), but that is a story for another day. lol

Remember you have one (1) week to get your "purple" projects in over at Clear It Our Challenge in order to be eligible for the prize from Lacy Sunshine.  We can hardly wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Till the next time I'm up in the night.
ETA:  I just found out I am the "winner" for the competition Laura was having between us DT members. So I want to say a big 'THANK YOU!!!" to each and every one of you for participating . . . no matter who you voted for.  It was fun to see so much participation and appreciation from all of our followers at Clear It Out Challenge . . . we wouldn't have CIO  challenge if it wasn't for YOU, our followers and friends!!!  So, THANKS!!! again!

A "Patriotic" Thank You

Hi, to all our Get Inky! family and friends!!!

I am here to share with you a project I did a few weeks ago as a "Thank You" for a very special lady in my life . . . and with her favorite colors being "Patriotic", what better stamp set to use that the new Patriotic mini stamp set called "American Star" from Get Inky! Stamps (by Blue Moon Creations)

With the new challenge over at Get Inky! Challenge being all about "die cuts",  I thought this card would be a great way to show you that not all die cuts are about flowers, flourishes, or lacey shapes.  There are actually die cuts from Spellbinders that cut A2 cards.  I used parts of Spellbinders Nestabilities Card Creator Basics A & Basics B) to create this card . . . and I loved it because it helps me to make sure my "mats" are an exact 1/8" or even a 1/4" difference if I am using mats.  Plus, I can use them for embossing . . . but first I need to get the rubber mat for my Big Shot, which is next on my "wish list". :)

As I mentioned above, I used a new mini Patriotic stamp set called "American Star" along with the "Patriotic" variety paper pack from The Paper Temptress.  Here's how it turned out:

Supplies:
Cobalt Archival Ink by Ranger
Ruby ink by Close to My Heart
Smooch Pearlized ink in Gold/Yellow and Red
"Holly Jolly” brad pearls by TPC
Papers used from the Patriotic variety paper pack from The Paper Temptress:

I just love how the textures of the Solar White Thick Columns and the mica/metallic papers from The Paper Temptress really enhance the "American Star" mini stamp set . . . I don't like cards when the paper overpowers the image(s).

I stamped my image with a dark blue ink and then colored with Smooches' Pearlized Ink in Red and Gold.  And though I used the gold on the mini stars and the outline of the big star, I had a hard time trying to get a good picture to show it . . .but it is there, I promise. :)  After coloring my star, I fussy-cut it and adhered it with Helmar's Scrap Dots 3D Adhesive.  For the other stars in the top corners, I stamped it on a cushion/foam in order to get a good image due to the "thick columns (or the embossing).  All-in-all I think it turned out to be a pretty good CAS card. :)

Remember, you still have time to get your "die cut" projects in to Get Inky! Challenge in order to be eligible for the prize.  I can't wait to see what each and every one of you come up with for your die cuts . . . whether it be flowery, lacey or even an A2 die set.  I have another A2 set called "A-2 Fancy Ribbon Threader . . . check back Tuesday to see a card I used it on.

Till the next time I'm up in the night.
4/28/14 - ETA:  It was brought to my attention that this post didn't post yesterday as it should have and I apologize that.  Somehow it got scheduled for next Sunday . . . guess I was either going too quick or my eyes were more tired than usual and I hit the wrong "square" on the calendar.  But whatever happened, I am so sorry. :)  Have a GREAT day!!!

HIMCR #147 - "Mother's Day"

If you are here for Get Inky!'s Spring/Easter Blog Hop, click HERE.

Hi, all my crafty friends and family!

It's the 4th Saturday of the month and do you know what that means?

It not only means it is time for another challenge over at Hiding In My Craft Room, but it is a "freestyle" challenge.  And this week's theme is "Mother's Day" . . . this can be a card, a tag for a gift, an altered item for a gift, a scrapbook page about Mother or just anything that says "Mother" to you or for Mother.  So get out your scissors, glue . . . and scraps and let's get crafty!

This week our sponsor is Pickled Potpourri:

And the giveaway is a $7 gift certificate!

For this week's challenge, Pickled Potpourri gave us 4 different digi images to chose from and I chose to use the "Tulips" because not only do they remind me of "Mother" but they also remind me of Spring.  Here's how my card turned out:

For this card, I used paper from the "Valentine's" paper package from The Paper Temptress . . . it had so many different reds, pinks, creams, golds, etc. that it was hard to chose which ones to use. But chose, I did. :)  Oh, and right now all variety paper packages are 25% off at The Paper Temptress.

Using my Sprllbinders "Romantic Retangles (#S5-090) and the Rose Quartz Mica/Metallic, I created the base of my card. The next layer is Gold Mica/Metallic Text (which means it is a lighter weight version of the Mica/Metallic paper) and the creamy paper at top is Opal Metallic. And the paper at the bottom are scraps from "Summer Stories" 6x6 paper pad by Teresa Collins.  I used pink rhinestones from the Lost 'n Found collection by MME at each corner of the base of the card, at the top right of the front and under the word's "Happy Mother's Day" (which I added at the bottom of the tulip digi before I printed it.

I just love how soft all the colors look . . . and how shimmery the paper is.  Here's a close-up to show you the shimmer:

Remember, you have one (1) week to get your "Mother's Day" projects in to be eligible for the prize from Pickled Potpourri.  I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with . . . and I'm sure your Moms can't either. :)

Till the next time I'm up in the night.

Clear It Out Challenge - "Animals"

Hi, all my crafty friends and family!!!

Do you know what time it is?

Well, first I want to say "Thanks" to all of you have been voting for me over at Clear It Out Challenge for the competition our fearless leader is having this month between the Design Team members . . . I truly appreciate your support and hope you will stop by again this week to vote (for me, of course - lol).  For those who do not know what I am talking about . . . well, Laura is having a monthly "competition" between all the DT members where everyone gets to vote for their favorite card EACH and EVERY week for the month of April.  And at the end of the month, the "winner" will receive a gift certificate to their favorite online digi store . . . and needless to say, I am hoping and praying I will win since it has been months since I've been able to buy any digi images. So make sure you stop by to vote.  Thanks!!

Now . . . .

Does anyone know what time it is?

It's challenge time!!!

Once again, time for a new challenge over at Clear It Out Challenge. It is time to clear away the Easter baskets, hide the Easter candy so the kiddies (or maybe you) don't get a tummy-ache from too much candy - lol, and time to get our crafty on.  And, as usual, our AMAZING leader, Laura, has come up with a GREAT challenge for us.

 Are you ready???

I didn't hear you . . .

Are you ready???

Okay, it's challenge time!!!

Theme:  Animals
Stash: Striped paper

And you have one (1) week to play (till April 29th)

This week our sponsor is MelJen :

This week I chose a cute duckie digi image from MelJen because it reminded me about what April is about besides Easter . . . you know, "April showers bring May flowers".  And with wanting to keep the focus on the duck, I tried to do a CAS card . . . not sure if I accomplished it due to everyone seems to have a different idea or definition of what a CAS card should look like.  Here's how my card turned out:

I used "Kraft in Color-Color" and "Kraft in Color-Kraft" 6x6 paper pads by Doodlebug Designs, Inc. along with my Nesting Doily dies, some twine and misc. square jems at the corners.  All-in-all, I think it turned out to be more of a "fancy" CAS card . . . what do you think?

Please remember to stop back Clear It Out Challenge to place your vote for your favorite card . . . I haven't seen what my other team members have done for this week, but I do know there are some gifted designers on this team.

Also, you have one week to get your projects entered in order to be eligible to this week's prize from MelJen.  We can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Till the next time I'm up in the night.

HIMCR #146 - Flowers

If you are here for Get Inky!'s Spring/Easter Blog Hop, click HERE.

Hi, all my crafty friends and family!

It's the 3rd Saturday of the month and do you know what that means?

It means not it time for another challenge over at Hiding In My Craft Room.  And the theme is "Flowers" . . . because "April showers bring May flowers."  So get out your scissors, glue . . . and scraps and let's get crafty!

This week we have two (2) sponsors-

Scrapper's Delight is giving a winner 3 digital images!

and
Lawn Fawn who is donating a stamp set of winner's choice!

For this week's challenge I chose a cute little image called "Baby Bunny Girl" from Scrapper's Delight for two (2) reasons . . . one because it was a new Spring Release and two because it reminded me of my sister and her hubby.  They lost their little baby girl a year ago and a baby girl bunny has a special meaning . . . so I decided to make this card for them to let them know I am thinking of them and that I do remember.  Here's how it turned out:

I used "Botanical Tea" 8x8 paper pad by Graphic 45 along with some White Ruche from The Paper Company for this project.  I also used some flowers from Prima and my Nesting Doily Circles by QuikKutz.

I do pray this brings a smile to my sister's face or at least to her heart knowing that someone hasn't forgotten one of Heaven's littlest angels.  She and her hubby are to be here tomorrow, so I will give it to her then . . . and who knows, maybe they will have an announcement for us since they asked if they could stop by and the last time they did something like that was when they announced she was expecting Kali. :)

Anyway, remember you have one (1) week to get your projects in to be eligible for the GREAT prizes this week.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Till the next time I'm up in the night.

HIMCR #145 Super Scraps Saturday

Hi, all my crafty friends and family?

It's the 2nd Saturday of the month and do you know what that means?

It means not only is it time for another challenge over at Hiding In My Craft Room, but it also means that it is time for Super Scraps Saturday.  That's right!  This week your challenge is to use your scraps . . . and we all know we have scraps lying around.  Well, I know I do . . .which is why this is one of my all-time favorite challenges. :)  So get out your scissors, glue . . . and scraps and let's get crafty!

This week our sponsor is  My Besties! And the giveaway is all five (5) images the Hiding In My Craft Room Design Team is using this week.  How exciting is that?!?!!

This week I chose "Hope Girl" (#712) from Scrapbook Stampers Society/My Besties . . . which is available in their Etsy store.  I chose it because it reminded me of my daughter and a costume I had made for her when she was four (4) years old . . . remember "Gypsy" from "The Bug's Life"?  Anyway, using that for my inspiration, here's how my card turned out:

I used my scraps from "Oh, Darling" 6x6 paper pad from Crate Paper.  I also used my scraps of Iridescent Cyrogen paper and White Crepe (Ruche) paper from The Paper Temptress and gems from Prima along with my Copics.

I also did a 2nd card because I was unsure as to which paper to print and color my image on because the Iridescent Cyrogen is more of an off-white color the the bright white of the regular Cyrogen paper. For my 2nd card, I used my scraps from "My Girl" 6x6 paper pad from MME and the same sketch that I not only used for my 1st card, but for several others cards in the past month or two . . . what can I say? . . . when I find something I like, I keep on using it. lol Anyway, \ here's how it turned out:

I'm not sure which card I like the best because one is more of a cooler color tone, where the other is more of a warm color tone.  But all-in-all, I am happy with the way BOTH of these cards turned out.

Remember, you have one (1) week to get your projects turned in at HIMCR to be eligible to win all five (5) images used this week by the HIMCR Design Team.

Till the next time I'm up in the night.

Clear It Out Challenge - Anything Goes

Does anyone know what time it is?

That's right . . .

It's CHALLENGE time!!!

Once again, it's challenge time over at Clear It Out Challenge.  Time to put away the groceries and put away the bills . . .   and get your crafty on.  And usual, our fearless leader, Laura,  has come up with yet another AMAZING challenge for us . . . and it's so easy, peasy!!! So get out your paper, scissors, glue  and . . .

 Are you ready???

I didn't hear you . . .

Are you ready???

Okay, it's challenge time!!!

Theme:  Anything Goes
Stash: Real or Faux Stitching

And you have 1 week to play (till April 14th)

This week our sponsor is:

For this week's challenge, I choose an adorable digi image called "Hello Spring" by StampArt by Kathryne . . . what a PERFECT time for it!  Not only is it getting close to Easter, but the weather is finally getting warmer . . . at least, I hope dear old winter is on his way out. :)  Here's the card I came up with:

Supplies:
"Summer Bliss" by Echo Park
Nesting Doily Circle dies from QuikKutz
misc. gems by MME
Copics

I just LOVE how the White Crepe (Ruche #80) paper from The Paper Temptress helps to give this card a little more texture and the Iridescent Cryogen gives my image a little extra shimmer.  And I also love how my new Doily Circle dies ended up looking with this project. :)

Remember. you have one week to get your projects entered to be eligible for the prize this week.  And speaking of prizes, did you know that Laura is having a competition between the DT members?  For the month of April, you get to vote for your favorite card each week (mine, of course - lol) and at the end of the month the winner will get a $25 gift certificate to their favorite digi store.  And as much as I would LOVE for you to vote for me, I encourage you to go over and vote for YOUR favorite . . . there is such talent on this team. :)

Now let's get crafty . . .

Till the next time I'm up in the night.

HIMCR - #144 Color It

Hi, all my crafty friends and family!!!

Before any of you ask . . . Yes, I do have a new header and personalized signature.  One VERY generous lady from HIMCR offered to make new ones for all of us on the DT.  Now all I need to do is figure out how to get a "reply" option added in my comments so I can reply to each of you here on my blog.  I will figure it out eventually.  :)

Anyway, here it is the 1st Saturday of the
April . . . and do you know what that means?

Well, first it means that some of our Hiding In My Craft Room DT members have left us . . . which means we have some new members who have such AMAZING talent.  So PLEASE make sure to stop by each of blog today to give them a little lovin' and welcome them to the Hiding In My Craft Room family.  I am sure you will end up loving them as much as I do. :)

It also means that it is time for a new challenge at Hiding In My Craft Room . . .  and since it is the 1st Saturday, it will be a "color it" challenge.  This week the colors will be black and white +1 (meaning black and white plus one more color).  This week's sponsor is Blue Moon Creations Crafting Station (aka Get Inky!).

For this challenge, I chose a cute penguin digi from BMCCS (aka Get Inky!) because I thought he (or she) would be PERFECT with a black/white theme plus one color.  I chose to use papers from The Paper Temptress for this card, too, because I wanted to add a little texture without overpowering the digi image.  Here's how it turned out:

Supplies:
Penguin digi stamp from BMCCS (aka Get Inky!)
Iridescent Cryogen paper from The Paper Temptress (printed image on it & color with Copics)
heart gems from Recollections

If you want more details on the individual papers, click on their names or to go directly to the website, click on The Paper Temptress.

This card turned out so cute that I am going to make a few more along with some Easter cards to send to the local children's hospital . . . there are so many children that don't get anything while in the hospital and I pray one of my cards will bring a smile to their face(s).  If you want more information on how to donate cards, go to Send a Smile 4Kids blog.

Till the next time I'm up in the night.
